I have also been experiences left side back pain with a numbness under the shoulderblade. Have you experienced urinary issues alongside this? (Frequency increase, burning sensation, etc?)

This left side back pain has been ongoing chronically for 4 years...have checked colon, vaginal ultrasound, external ultrasound, catskan (sp?), blood, etc...but no solution to eliminate the pain.

Currently, an OBGYN offered two considerations: Endometreosis and/or Interstitial Cystitis. I went on the IC diet last week and had NO pain for 8 days. You might want to look into, too? We'll see...the pain came back when I entered back in usual foods in my diet.

I too am having a similar problem.
I've was prescribed antibiotics, have had multiple tests run to rule out something hidden, and still haven't a clue as to the root of the problem.
Initially I was told by an er physician that I was in the process of breaking
out in shingles - this diagnosis was made in September, and I've still not
broken out.
For about a week after finishing the antibiotics, the pain seemed to subside
a bit. It's now full blown again, just as bad as it ever was.
The skin right in the bend of my waist on the left is hyper-sensitive to the
point of causing me to tear up at times. If my shirt rubs against it, it's as
though someone is slicing my skin with a knife. This is when it's at its worst.
As now, it feels feverish, looks like a bit of a rash just beneath the skin, but
nothing outward that would indicate shingles.
When it's not really bad, it just itches, is somewhat sensitive, and has a numb
feeling to it.
The doctors have told me until I break out in a rash (which would then indicate shingles definitely), there is nothing I can do.
Nothing helps, with the exception of cold compresses.
