Default Cold case in the medical feild?

So about two years ago my husband got the flu. He was sick in bed for TWO WEEKS i was very worried because all the flu's I have had went away in about a week.

So i took him to the hospital where he was given antibiotics. Then in about two days the flu went away and we were both happy. The next day he went to work and there was a terrible accident, he works as a construction worker and one of the people there had a 500 pound steel bar fall on his leg. So i got a call saying that my husband was laughing out of control at what had happened!

I couldn't believe it! so i picked him up and he was laughing like there was always something funny happening. I brought him to the hospital and they asked what happened, and they said he had something called euphoria? or something like that. They said its like a good mood or it can be caused by good events in the persons life (like that flu being cured because he was VERY sick) but i wondered why he would be in this "good mood" after seeing such a bad accident happen.

So i brought him home and this laughing thing went away within the day. I didn't think to much or it. now something els happened and i was really scared. His hand did this thing where his fingers got all distorted AGAIN i brought him to the hospital. MRI was done and nothing was wrong. They said it was most likely a muscle spasm. Again i brought him home.

It went away within the day and i found this odd because he was having all these weird things happening then POOF they are gone quicker than they started. Now a new serious symptom showed up

He went blind! and it switched off and on for a few hours, he would go blind then he could see but the colors weren't right. He saw blue as red white as black ect so again i brought him to the hospital and they did another MRI and eye test, they found NO REASON for the blindness. But they did something right for once, they kept him in the hospital over night. The next morning i came back and picked him up and he was moaning about pain in his head arms legs ect. he pretty much had pain everywhere. I brought him home and took his temp, it was 103.90 so i put cold wash cloths on his forehead but they didn't help.. and as the day went on the pain throughout his body got MUCH worse. Im pretty sure you could hear him screaming from down the road. So again... I brought him to the hospital they gave him morphine which helped but he was still in pain. I found that odd because morphine is one powerful pain killer.

They kept him there over night and when i got back the next day they were asking him how bad the pain is and he said 10/10, it was so bad that it looked like a continual seizure! he was screaming in pain and by now the doctors were doing tons of tests but could not find anything. The next day when i got back they gave me a consent form and i asked what it was about. They wanted to put him in a chemically induced coma or the pain would kill him. they said he had something called hyperalgesia and that whatever he had was in the pain center of his brain. Well I didn't have a choice so i let them do it.

And he never woke up from it. They did test after test autopsy you name it they did it. But no answers.

I am still looking for an answer, I need to know what happened. Thats the only way I will feel at ease.

I didn't give enough symptoms to go on so i have put a list of ALL his symptoms together. The symptoms in the paragraphs above were the most serious but he had others:

Vomitting
Dizziness
Extreme pain
Loss of sight
Euphoria
Hyperalgesia
High fever
Shortness of breath

and any other symptoms i missed will be found in the above paragraphs.

does anybody know what this is!?

also incase this is of value, all the things he did the days before the flu:

we took a vacation, we went swimming ate tacos, fish (cooked), we went fishing and then more swimming, bike riding then we checked into a motel for a few days.

thank you in advance for any help at all

That's why they usually moderate the new members... don't feel bad though. You weren't the only one.

They moderate new members to keep them from doing newbie errors.

he was 24, and we couldn't go far because he was doing some project at work, so we went to lake simcoe which is about a 1 hour drive from where we lived. I like to call it a vacation but really its not. also the motel was just on the way home, we stopped there and drove to the hospital when needed.

and never mind about the 2nd post i made in here, we will post in this one.

You are right. It seems quite a mystery.

Nope, he was only on lorazepam for anxiety and to help him get to sleep. and.... we only smoked pot like once. No history of health problems.

tumors were ruled out because he had at least 3 MRI's

they ruled out Hyperalgesia (dont remember how) they also ruled out listeria (also i dont remember what test they did to rule this out) and many other parasites and brain infections. i will go back and read medical history to see if i forgot about anything that showed up on the mri ect. and i will post with results

They didn't give him antibiotics for flu...
but maybe for a secondary infection?

I wonder if he could have had a parasite infection like a worm , amoeba, or had encephilitis, meningitis etc.
