hi im jamie,
About 3 months ago i started getting heat rash. at first i thought i had got bitten by something whilst sleeping because it was after i had stayed in a hotel. Then after a few weeks it kept appearing, it only appears when i am exercising and get hot. Then i thought it was due to the washing powder that was being used, or the soap/shampoo i was using, but it was none of these. About 5 weeks ago i went and saw a doctor and he said that there was nothing i could do and that when i exercise the blood gets watered down and that may have been wat was causing it. He said i should get some blood tests and he also checked out a suspected excma spot on my back. He prescribed some cream for the excma. I got the blood tests and they came back normal. I still get the rash and ive already had it today after i was playing some basketball outside. I am very active and this heat rash gets very annoying as it appears when ever i am playing sport etc. Is there anything i can do to stop this heat rash ?? Does the excma have anything to do with it ?? please help! |

HI Jamie,
I read your letter. I have had a rash similar to what you are describing for years now but without any success in having it resolved. Mine comes out on me when my body gets heated up and unfortunately has left me very conscious of it as it comes out all over my body and over my face. I have also noticed that it comes out on me if I get very tired and emotional etc. I have tried everything from dermatologists, antihistamine drugs and chinese medicine and so far without any success. It's as if I get a hot flush and you can feel your blood and skin heating up and before you can do anything your skin starts to get blotchy red with pimples and is also itchy. have you ahd any success in finding a cure in the meantime ?. |

I don't know if this occurs all over the body but if it happens to the face only and it stays red and itchy for a prolonged period of time, it could be Rosacea.

remove your body hair with nair for men (the little white ones you dont really see) & preoxide to dry them out.
you will look like a plucked chicken at 1st lots of little pimples in the affeced area take cod liver oil tabs and vitiaman c some hot bathing or a suna (no creams they will block up your pours in your skin) (hot bathing)will open up the pours in the skin .then dry them out this may fix your problem lemon drys them out too if your a greenie or a hippy. the hair is the main problem good luck |

I get the rash also, I never got it when I was younger it started about the age of 26, I am in the military and I exercise allot and right before I get sweaty I feel itchy especially at my fore head then my chest. Also when I am driving in the car if I have the heat on, or shower, or standing in front of crowds. It does not look like roscera(oops spelled it wrong) because usually that it raised this is flush to skin. I don't know about removing all my hair and taking fish oil. Does this sound like anyone's symptoms?

every single time i start to get warm, my whole upper body including my face and head get really hot and itchy, its an unbearable itch and i have to stop whatever im doing, whether it's working out or having sex. my skin becomes red and blotchy and stays that way for about twenty minutes. It kind of feels like that insulation fibre, but thats not it. This has occurred for about two years with little explanations from doctors. This has nothing to do with dry skin, as i hve tried everything with no results at all. I've noticed others have posted the same problem and hope someone has a n answer for me. Also, my skin does not become raised or bumpy, just red and blotchy.

also, with my problem , there are no pimples. Just red itchy blotchy skin that seems to happen underneath, not on top where it might be dry or anything.

hey its Jamie again..
still I've had no luck.. been to the doctors with them still not knowing wats wrong.. they keep suggesting heat rash, but i have read up and heat rash is supposed to go away within weeks. I have had mine for nearly a year. i ate to much nachos and dip and broke out in hives. which then went away. For about a week whenever i got the heat rash it turned into hives. Its gone now. The weird rash is still affecting me and like irishman i get the hot flush rite before the rash. The weirder thing is sometimes i don't get it during playing sport, depending on the environment and temperature. I am showering twice a day to keep my skin clean and non oily. |

Dustin S/Others,
I read your symptoms and my experiences are Exactly similar. I take two medicines to combat the symptoms and the rashes have gone away since taking them. I take Toprol and Ranitidine. Quality of life has greatly improved. Suggest speaking to your doctor. I got the rash when I was exercising, when I was startled by something, when eating a spicy food, etc. I believe the rash happened by a trigger that increased my heart rate. PD |
