Ignored Chiari I Malformation
My MRI results from 02, 03, and 06 all show Chiari I Malformation (1-1.2 cm), no visible syrynx. Somehow these results have been overlooked and no doctors have pursued it as the cause of the symptoms that have plagued me for years - headaches, neck and shoulder pain, dizziness, brain-fog and spacey-ness, choking, falling, blurry vision, chest pain, poor hand-eye coordination, fatigue, pulsing head and headaches on exertion and exercise, many more.
I recently found my copy of the MRI results and looked it up online - discovering the correlation! I brought it to my doctor's attention and she didn't seem to think it was related. I have been treated for depression for over a year. Treated with Strattera for ADD (I can't tell if it helps with focus and brain-fog - I guess that means it doesn't?). I have been treated for migraines for several years - triptans have never worked (because they aren't migraines?!) What can I expect from here? How do I get my doctor to seriously consider this? Could it be something else? So frustrated and miserable living this way!
