Hi,
I am 30, male, computer programmer. I've never had any problem in my eyes before, but 13 days ago my left eye got blurred and then I started getting dizzy sometimes. I went to the GP and he said it could be conjunctivitis (I didn't think it was, because my eye wasn't red or sticking). I applied the eyewash he prescribed for 5 days, no improvements though. Then I went to the eye hospital and they made a lot of exams (also with dilated pupil) and the doctor there said she couldn't find anything wrong in my eyes (My problem is in the left eye only) and then asked me to go back in 5 weeks time (24/08) After these exams I started felling my vision getting better. But today it is more blurred than yesterday. I check this by looking in some objects at home, which are always in the same place, and see if I can read the text on them. Other test is to try to focus the computer screen with the right eye covered... I could see reasonable well yesterday, today it is worse, but still better than the first days. After going to the eye hospital I went to the GP again, and he told me I should go to optician and maybe find a pair o glasses which would make me feel more comfortable. I don't want to wear glasses before be sure what was the cause for that problem. By my experience my vision goes better some days and worse other days. Maybe (and hopefully) it can be reversible. The symptoms I feel in my left eye are: - Blurred vision (Some days better, some days worse). - Sometimes it is itching; - Sometimes if hurts a bit; - Sometimes I feel like there is something inside it; - Sometimes I have a feeling as the eyelid is a bit glued; Something I tested yesterday was to see how light I have going through one eye and compare to the other. During the day I could see things with more brightness in the right eye (the good one). At night however, the left eye can capture much more light (still blurred though) as I almost thought I had infrared vision in my left eye...lol!! All this is confusing for me... I have high cholesterol (280) and I am over weight (Not hugely though). I also don't have a healthy diet. I always have perfect vision and now I am scared as this symptoms could be an alert for any other serious problem I have and don't know yet. P.S.: Sorry for my English, It's difficult to me to described the symptoms as my English is not so good. Can any one help me please? |

I also have blurred vision in my left eye. I am a 55 year old woman who wears bifocals for distance & reading. My opthalmologist checked my vision, got alarmed & sent me to a neuro-opthalmologist who found my retina & optic nerves healthy. Told me to get medical evaluation & have my carotid arteries checked. Had complete medical workup including sonograms of both carotid arteries as well as my leg that had a blood clot in 2006 & the unaffected leg. Both carotid arteries are clear & both legs are fine. Vascular doctor said to have an echocardgiogram to see if I have a hole in my heart. Had an echo-my heart is normal. MD checked my blood for 17 different things-all I have is high cholesterol. All referred me back to original opthalmologist who sent me to a retina specialist. I went on 6/16 & he said my circulation in my eyes was good & there was no blood or blood clots behind them. Then he did a retinal angiogram. Told me to make an appointment with original opthalmologst for after July 4th so his reports could get there. Meanwhile, I have poor vision in my left eye even with my glasses on! I know what you're going through. I will see the original eye doctor on 7/7 & if necessary will go to a 2nd one for another opinion.

Me too,
I’m a 43yr old male that up until now has had perfect vision. Three months ago I noticed thing across the room were blurry with my left eye. The eye doctor did a complete work up and everything looked ok and set me up with glasses. Since then, I’ve been going back to the Dr. every two weeks and my eye glass prescription has changed three times and my vision keeps getting worse (need a forth). Now, everything more than a foot and a half away is blurry. The right eye is still good. I can’t afford all of those tests. I don’t know what to do. It’s really depressing! |

I was taking a medicine for high pressure in my eyes. It is chemically related to a new medicine to grow eyelashes. I had wonderful new eyelashes but they started to cut my cornea. I haven't had clear vision in both eyes in three months. This is so frustrating! We discontinued the drops I was using and the eye doc is hoping that I'll get my old eyelashes back. Yesterday, he gave me a new prescription for my lenses since he thinks some of the blurring is from the lenses. I don't, since I had perfectly clear vision one day and woke up the next morning all blurry. My eyes feel all dried out like they are being held open at night with a fan turned on them. I have to use artificial tears all the time and a couple times I'll wake up at night and have to use them.

I think also am looking for anyone who may have a hint as to what is happening with my left eye. Today is the third time I have experienced it - lasting only a few minutes I loose my perferial vision in the left eye - nearest thing I can describe it as looking thru a window with rain drops on it as it is raining. I noted today that also, if I close my eye, I still see it.
I have always had poor vision, so near sighted it's sorry... always wore glasses and in the past few years now wear bi-focals. (I will be 56 next month). Have circulation problems for the past 10 years or so, Doctors did not perscribe anything for it, they say it's just part of aging and some folks bodies age faster than others... can deal with alot but my vision is special to me as I have always had poor vision and really value the vision I have. Can anyone think why this is happening? |

Hey everyone,
I am having the same problem. Even after going through several tests, i am not able to find the reason why this is happening. This blurred vision in the left eye has now decreased and it happened without any medication... If anyone knows about this please help so i can take steps... |

I had the same thing with my left eye for months - still didn't go to the doctor though... I have a feeling as something in my eye and sometimes it feels dry - i use some eye drops and it helps for af ew minutes. I also use computer a lot and my symptoms get less if i don't go near it for 2 days over the weekend. Very similar to the forst post. Let us know if it's been dignosed.
Cheers. |
