tyler, you don't mention any other symptoms. are there any other? I had a burning mouth and tongue and kept complaining to my dentist about it. he didn't come up with any answers. At the time I was chewing ice like crazy and tired all the time. By chance my primary Dr. did a complete blood count and then other labs and diagnosed me with iron def. anemia. i'm now giving myself B12 injections, have no burning mouth and do not chew ice.

Hang in there. It's the most horrible condition. After four years of suffering I am finally getting relief with clonazepam. I ended up at the Oral Pathology Department of my local Dental Hospital and this was their suggestion. It took me four years to get to this point after numerous visits to doctors, dentists, psychologists etc who did not have a clue. It just cost heaps of money with no solution so good luck.

I was diagnosed about a year ago with burning mouth syndrome. I went to a Ora Surgeon. He did all kind of tests and finally came up with the diagnose. He gave me clonazepan to swish around. The condition just comes and goes.

did you hAVE any other symptoms that went along with the burning mouth such as: fatigue, rapid hair loss, joint pain, difficulty swallowing, trigerminal neuralgia?

Last fall, I had been taking an antibiotic for a cold. After it was gone I began having burning mouth and my tongue was coated. The doctor said it may be thrush and had me tested and it was positive. Doctor gave me meds, I took them and it went away. It came back again, I used a rinse and it went away. It has come back again but, this time the throat swab was negative for thrush but, the burning in my mouth continues along with my tongue turning a pale white. It's not coated, it's like the skin of my tongue is white. My question is, does anybody else who has BMS, also have a white tongue. It really has me perplexed cause I don't know what to do about it or what to expect from it. Any ideas, anyone?
