Bullous Pemphigoid (blistering of the mouth)

Hi ,I have been diagnozed with Bullous Pemphigoid, I have never heard of this before and neither has my dentist. Apparently it has something to do with the immune system, the specialist says maybe it's stress or hormonal, I am 47 years old. I get white , sometimes red blisters, on my gums mostly, sometimes in my cheeks.Not really painful except when the skin comes off, which it does with brushing my teeth or eating hard foods. Have tried steriod injections directly in gums and cream, doesn't really help.No one really seems to know what I can expect from this. Sure hope someone can help me with more info..
