lump in mouth and white/red patches

I have a small lump on the back of my mouth and it is red. Im getting white and red patches in my mouth at the back (around the area of the lump) Ive just recovered from a bacterial infection. ive been to the hospital and doctor both say the lump and colours are normal.

Im not convinced and im worried its the C word. Ive got a dentist appointment on 27th and so im dreading that as it is and its only a checkup.

Could it be the C word?

just to add. a white dot in the centre of the lump appeared until i ate some crisps and then it dissapered. seems as tho theres a clear spec in the centre of the lump now rather then a white spec.... lump still same size
