In January, I went to the doc because of a rash on my leg. He sent me to the lab for lots of blood tests, including an ANA. The doc said he thought I had diabetes or lupus. I am pre-diabetic and the ANA came back high, so they had me do another ANA which came back super high and earned me a referal to a rhuematologist. My only problem is that while researching my symptoms I find that the only sypmtom of lupus I have is fatigue. However, Hashimato's fits me to a T. Fatigue, weight gain, can't lose weight, weak fingernails, hair loss, brain fog, can't concentrate at all, swelling around my eyes, sore throat. The doc said my thyroid came back as normal so it couldn't possibly be that. I am still waiting for my referal, so I don't have my appt with the rhuematologist yet, but I'm wondering if the rhuematologist would be able to help find out if it is my thyroid? My reg doc won't see me about having my thyroid rechecked- I can't even make an appt until I see the rhuematologist. Can anyone offer any insight? Can a postive ANA indicate Hashimoto's?
Thanks!
