My 4 year old son has been throwing up phlem at least once a week since the last week of December. It last for about 1 1/2 hours then he is fine. Usually occurs early in the morning between 4-6 am. What should i do? Has anyone heard of this? Please help!

it sounds like to me he is beginning an ulcer have him looked a by a doctor for an ulcer and maybe he can be perscribed medicine. I always fed my ulcer to keep it stable sometime i would get up at night and force myself toeat starchy foods to hold over the nausea but then i threw my cholestral out.Feeding an ulcer can work if you do it right watch his diet get him off anything he could be allergic to maybe dairy or peanuts try experimenting his diet with low fat low cholesteral foods. feed him more often and at weird times like at night the longer he goes without food the worse his nausea will be.

just some thoughts from someone who did the same for years
it could be
Ulcer
Sugar
Cholestral or
allergy

I'm not a doctor, but my son (age 6) has cyclic vomiting syndrome. He wakes up early in the morning (3-6 am), vomits saliva/phelgm for 1-4 hours and then he's fine until the next time. You can find more out about it at www.cvsaonline.org. Definitely worth checking into. Good luck and God bless.

My son also had Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome..Took 10 years to diagnose..the vomiting will eventually turn into abdominal migraines with vomiting then into migraines which is where my son is at now. He still calls home from school sick with a severe headache when he gets too hot or over exerted. I cannot tell you the worry I went through with this sometimes debilitating disease. My son started off when he was born and they ended doing a nissenfundoplication on him because they thought he had a rare form of reflux..It ended up being the CVS...
good luck
